Lab #014

Shapes like clouds

Project: Private Home.
Place: Arles, France.
Interior Designer: Philippe Medioni

The Lab #014 seating set, conceived by designer Philippe Medioni for a private residence in Arles, France, introduces the organic aesthetic of the Cotignac family to the realm of exclusive developments. This sofa and armchair ensemble is defined by an unmistakable visual language: a fragmented backrest that follows the natural logic of "river stones" or flower petals.

In the armchair, this iconic DNA translates into three individual, rounded modules that form both the arms and the backrest, subtly embracing the user. Meanwhile, the sofa expands this same narrative by multiplying the sequence of petals to wrap the entire length of its asymmetrical and sinuous seat. Both structures share a base that rises on striking half-cylinder legs, giving the furniture the character of a "sculpture on a pedestal" that elevates the visual status of the architectural environment.

True to our philosophy of artisanal crafting, the Lab Cotignac concept is fully customizable. This versatility allows space creators to project a 100% bespoke design, defining the exact dimensions, altering the modular configurations, and supplying their own fabrics (Customer's Own Material) to ensure absolute coherence with the project's interior design.
